Review of Vionic Uptown loafer

You can watch my YouTube video for an in depth review of the Vionic Uptown loafer. Or you can get the bulleted blow by blow below if you’re in a hurry. One thing is sure; I’m keeping these and foresee lots of wear this fall in classroom as I substitute teach at my son’s high school.

Update autumn 2025: I’m still reaching for my Vionic Uptowns whenever I need to cover my toes due to chipped pedicure and general distaste of my arthritic feet! The soft suede is kind to my sensitive toes and instep. The arch support is just right and they go with all my casual outfits.

Here’s the lowdown:

  • Toe box is generous but doesn’t look wide.
  • Softest suede or leather uppers are forgiving of bunions and hammertoes.
  • No irritating seams on the inside.
  • Enhanced arch support.
  • Good traction.
  • Flexible outsole.
  • True to size.
  • Extended sizes, wide widths available.
  • Versatile style.
  • Comes in 11 colors.
Anatomy of the Vionic Uptown Loafer

Sizes: 5-13 • Widths: M & W • Price: $54-145 from Vionic Shoes, Zappos, Amazon & Nordstrom( find a deal on eBay).

Those of us in cooler climates look forward to sandal season all year long – that sometimes too-brief window of time when feet can be sock-free and open to the breeze.  But if you have feet that need extra support, we probably don’t have to tell you that finding sandals with arch support can be a challenge.  Join us as we round up a collection of great options to keep you looking good and feeling great all summer long.

You may notice many of our sandals with arch support have a back strap. This is intentional, as we recently learned from Dr. Cathleen McCarthy, a top podiatrist in Phoenix and author of Podiatry Shoe Review, that sandals with back straps are a must if you suffer from hammertoes or bunions. The rear foot control that a back strap provides discourages toe-gripping to keep the sandal on (this motion speeds up the progression of hammertoes…and bunions.)   Even if bunions and hammertoes aren’t an issue for your feet, you may still appreciate the security of a back strap, but we’ve also included some supportive slip-on options.

Barking Dog Shoes reviews and recommends the best footwear for people with various foot issues (as well as for women with average feet for whom comfort is a high priority).
Dansko Season

Clogs are making yet another comeback for 2024 and I’m happy to see that Dansko has kept this cutie around for yet another “Season.” Two velcro straps allow for a customized fit (even though the ankle strap looks like a real buckle). If you struggle with arthritis of the big toe (hallux rigidus) or need a rocker sole shoe to take pressure off the forefoot, the Dansko Season is a great choice. Plus it offers excellent arch support and cushioning for the sole. Find the Dansko Season in euro sizes 36-42 (5.5-12) for $125 from Dansko, Zappos and Nordstrom.

Vionic Walk Max Wanderer

“Really surprised by these, they blow my Teva and Chaco sandals out of the water! I can’t wait to wear them all summer. Recommend sizing down a half size from your Vionic sneaker/boot size.” Vionic customer

Incorporating Vionic’s newest and most lightweight midsole (Super Critical Foam) infused with nitrogen, the Vionic Walk Max Wanderer offers enhanced arch support, deep hee cup and three padded, adjustable straps. Available in sizes 5-13, medium and wide widths for $130 from Vionic Shoes, Nordstrom, Zappos and Amazon.

Skechers Arch Fit- City Catch

If you like the Skechers price point, but have found them to be less than supportive, think again! Skechers new machine-washable Arch Fit collection features shoes and sandals with podiatrist-certified arch support, contoured memory foam insoles and stretch uppers. Find the bunion-concealing City Catch style in sizes 6-10 for $65 from Zappos and Amazon.

Abeo Solstice

As a The Walking Company customer so aptly put it, “It’s so nice to have a shoe manufacturer that not only takes care of my orthopedic needs, but also my aesthetic needs.” The Abeo Solstice sandal features a built-in orthotic footbed with enhanced arch support and a real buckle for a secure fit around the ankle. We love that the Solstice comes in both a neutral and metatarsal (for high arches) insole. Available in sizes 5-11 for $139 from The Walking Company and Nordstrom.

Birkenstock Arizona Essentials in waterproof EVA

Ditch the Crocs and get yourself a pair of these affordable, lightweight, water-friendly Birks. I absolutely love mine and keep them by the door all summer long. The arch support is just lovely. They’re my go-to garden shoe. Then I wash them off and wear them around the house on the hard floors to protect my post-surgery feet. For the price, I should probably have two pair! Available in both Birkenstock widths (medium/narrow and wide), euro sizes 35-46 (4-13) for $49.95 from Amazon and Nordstrom.

Naot Kayla

Minimalist but with maximum arch support. Basic design yet beautiful. This is the Naot Kayla. It’s been one of Naot’s bestsellers for years and for good reason. A cork and latex footbed molds to your foot’s shape over time and a 1.5″ wedge heel provides just enough lift. Find the Naot Kayla in 24 colors, euro sizes 35-44 (4-13) for $139.95 from Naot.com, Zappos and Nordstrom. Also available in wide widths!

SAS Pampa Sandal

SAS Pampa sandal:  Every Zappos customer that left a review for the sandal awarded it five stars for comfort–every single one so far!  A contoured footbed with soft suede lining conforms to the natural arch and curves of the foot.

Extra cushioning at the ball-of-foot and heel comes as a welcome relief for those suffering with plantar fasciitis or metatarsalgia (forefoot pain). Available in whole and half sizes 5-12 (including hard-to-find 10.5 and 11.5), medium and wide widths at Zappos, and Amazon.

Orthofeet Paloma

The Orthofeet Paloma will comfort your troubled feet. A removable orthotic insole allows for the use of Orthofeet’s specialized Arch Booster system (a small orthotic device that can be placed under the insole for added arch support). Adjustable straps and a mild rocker sole enhance the overall comfort and support of the Orthofeet Paloma sandal. Find it in sizes 5-12, medium and wide widths for $97.95 at Orthofeet.com.

Plantar Faciitis sandals – which are the best? See Kirsten’s recommendations to a reader’s request…

Hello, Kirsten!
I have been reading your blog for a few months now. Your blog has helped me on my never-ending search for shoes. I have been living with plantar fasciitis for 2 1/2 years. After 1 1/2 years of treatment I finally gave up and had surgery. It has now been a year since my bone spur removal and heel resection. I still have pain. I have tried 3 different custom orthotics which lead to new pain in my knees, hips and lower back. I gave up on them.

Your blog lead me 2 months ago to Alegria Paloma. A welcome relief. I still have pain when the shoes are off but at least I can walk now without pain. I can not tell you how much I appreciate you for helping me find these shoes. I need to know what other brands of plantar faciitis sandals might help me? I think I should have a rocker bottom as well as a very stiff sole, no flex seems to help, but I think the key is the cushioning to keep my knees and hips from aching. Thanks so much for you and your blog!

I am very sorry to hear about your post-surgical heel pain. Yet, I’m happy to hear you’ve found temporary relief while wearing certain styles of plantar fasciitis shoes from Alegria footwear–a godsend to many with PF, over-pronation problems and other foot maladies. Since you’re well into sandal season in California, let me recommend five styles that won’t over-flex while providing good cushioning and support. Alegria sandals are a great place to start, but I’d like to show you a variety of styles from reputable comfort brands.

best sandals for plantar fasciitis
Vionic Mar

“These are cute and they really help me manage my plantar fasciitis pain. There’s a mild break in period to get used to the support, but I got zero blisters and can now wear these shoes very comfortably with almost every spring and summer outfit I have!” – Vionic customer Mrs Lindy611

Vionic has done it again with the stylish Mar platform sandal! Enhanced arch support takes strain off the fascia and a deep heel cup with back strap keeps the feet secure. An added bonus for those that hate velcro closures–it’s a real buckle! Available in sizes 5-12, medium and wide widths for $85-135 from Zappos, Amazon & DSW.

Taos The Show

“I have a very hard time finding a comfortable shoe. I have 3 neuromas in each foot and if that’s not bad enough I have plantar fasciitis in one too! I bought the tan pair and they look so cute with flare or straight leg jeans, shorts or even a summer dress. I do a lot of walking too and these are steady and secure on my feet. Fit great. I highly recommend!” -Taos customer Bev

Adjustability, excellent arch and metatarsal support, shock-absorbing cushion all in a good-looking sandal. Many A+ reviews for fit, comfort and style. The Show by Taos is available in whole sizes 6-11, medium and wide widths for $139-155 from Taos Footwear, Zappos and Amazon.

Kuru Coda Muse

“As a teacher, I’m up and down on my feet all day. I have severe plantar fasciitis and these shoes ensure I don’t end the day crying.” – Kuru customer Sharon

The Kuru Coda Muse features Kuru’s patented, built-in KURUSOLE–a heel-hugging technology that flexes with each step to hug your heels and support your arches to help fight plantar fasciitis pain. There’s elastic goring at the top of each strap to accommodate different foot shapes. Available in whole sizes 5-12, medium width for $139 from Kuru Footwear.

Cushionaire Luna

“I’ve worn these for three years and finally getting a new pair. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and these sandals are super comfy to wear all day in the summer. Great, cheaper alternative to Birks.”- Amazon customer Chel

This Birkenstock Mayari dupe scores high marks for comfort and plantar fasciitis relief for a fraction of the Birk price tag. While the straps are made of faux leather, the cork footbed is covered in genuine suede. The arch support isn’t as aggressive as Birkenstock and there’s no metatarsal support, so keep that in mind. Available in sizes 6-12, medium and wide widths for $34.99 from Amazon.

Fitflop Lulu

“Great looking shoes. I bought them for the arch for my plantar fasciitis and they are very helpful. The leather is very soft. Comfortable from day one.” – Zappos customer Carey B.

This is just one of many Fitflop Lulu styles, but we endorse it because of the ankle strap which helps secure the heel. The MicroWOBBLEBOARD™ EVA midsole features a high-density heel, low-density midsection, and mid-density toe cap that provides arch support and firm cushioning. Available in sizes 5-11 for $68-110 from Fitflop, Zappos, Amazon and Nordstrom.

We’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment about your favorite sandals for plantar fasciitis.

Every few months, we investigate the best plantar fasciitis shoes for women–always keeping fashion in mind.  As we can’t road test all the shoes and since styles are ever-evolving, we look for footwear with multiple positive reviews from women with plantar fasciitis. All feature good arch support and cushioning, shock-absorbing outsoles, deeper heel cups and 2″ and under heels. We’ll mention whether the shoe has a removable insole to accommodate an orthotic. We enjoy sharing our findings with you and are always open to recommendations of your best shoes for plantar fasciitis!

Best slip-on sneaker: Vionic Kearny Platform Slip-on Sneaker

Vionic has been upping their style game lately with trendy platform sneakers that not only look cute, but treat the feet well too (and the insole is removable)! Take it from these happy Vionic customers with plantar fasciitis:

Bought these shoes in black to wear to Ireland and Great Britain. They are so comfortable–no bunching of toes or slipping of heel. Hard to find a fashionable shoe in a wide size. I have plantar fasciitis and the arch support helps immensely.

The look and the fit is superb. It helps with my plantar fasciitis; the support is outstanding.

The Vionic Kearny Platform slip-on is available in sizes 5-13, medium and wide widths for $58-130 from Vionic ShoesZapposNordstrom and Amazon. Check out Vionic’s new arrivals for more stylish shoes for plantar fasciitis.

Naot Helm

Best ankle boot for plantar fasciitisNaot Helm

The minimalist Helm ankle boot (one of our favorite Naot styles) wins over women with problem feet. A removable anatomic cork and latex footbed and lightweight metal shank provide the support and stability that aching heels need. The Helm is part of Naot’s Aura collection of medium width footwear, yet the toe box is generous and forgiving of bunions. We love Christine’s review for Zappos:

These are unicorn shoes: comfort brand and finally a chic style that isn’t decidedly old-lady comfort granola. I am a devoted Naot lover with size 9.5-10 Wide feet with high high arches and plantar fasciitis, and the size 41 fit perfectly and is a snug, secure fit across the top of my foot.

Find the Naot Helm in euro sizes 35-42 (4-11) for $199.95 from Zappos, Naot.com and Nordstrom.

Tread Labs Salinas

Available in whole sizes 6-11 for $130 from Tread Labs and Amazon.

Oofos OOlala sandal in Tiger Lily

Best flip-flop/slide for plantar fasciitis: Oofos

Oofos offer the trifecta of support, firm cushioning and fun summer style! Made with proprietary OOfoam® technology, OOFOS absorb 37% more impact than traditional foam footwear materials. The footbed cradles and supports the arches perfectly, in fact Oofos carry the prestigious APMA (American Podiatric Medial Association) seal of acceptance for promoting good foot health. Oofos customer Sheri loves her Oofos:

“My initial skepticism has now transformed into a 100% believer in these flip flop style sandals. Every time I wear them I am relieved of my plantar fasciitis heel pain. They support the entire foot and it feels like I’m walking on a cloud!”

See my video review of the Oofos Oolala sandal here: Find Oofos sandals and slides in sizes 5-11 for $59.95-69.96 from Oofos.com, Zappos and Amazon.

Brooks Ghost

Best fitness shoes for plantar fasciitis: Brooks Ghost

With 77% of Zappos customers awarding a five-star rating to the Brooks Ghost running shoe, we had to find out why! We love Leslie’s review as it represents why so many women with PF love Brooks, especially the Ghost model:

This is the second pair of the Ghost line I have purchased and I honestly cannot believe they could get any better. Not only are they super comfortable but they are very cute. So far, I have run, completed 3 days of HIIT and 2 days of step aerobics. I bought a pair earlier this year after months of dealing with plantar fasciitis. Since the day I put them on, my plantar fasciitis has disappeared. I want to cry typing this. If you have ever dealt with PF you know how you would dread the first hour of your day. So grateful to be free of the pain. I am hooked on Brooks!!!

Aside from excellent heel support and pronation control, the Brooks Ghost features a roomy toe box and comes in narrow and wide widths. Find the Brooks Ghost in sizes 5-13, three widths for $129.95 from ZapposBrooks Running, and Amazon.

Dansko Paisley

Best waterproof sneaker for plantar fasciitisDansko Paisley

Are you planning a vacation to a wet climate where you’ll be walking miles every day? Don’t look like a tourist in day-glo running sneakers! Opt for the Dansko Paisley, a waterproof walking sneaker with a removable triple-density footbed with arch support and shock-absorbing, slip-resistant Vibram® rubber outsole.

Amazon customer Julie reviews her Paisleys:

“I’ve tried about everything know to mankind to alleviate my Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis including about ten different inserts, 3D mapped inserts, compression wraps, chiropractic, PT, and medication. Nothing was helping, so I decided to buy these shoes in a last-ditch effort to avoid having laser surgery. They are an absolute miracle!! I can walk without limping, my feet aren’t screaming all day, my heels are no longer on fire, and I can stand for long periods of time without the excruciating pain I used to have. While I still have some slight pain in my heel, it’s tolerable now.”

The Dansko Paisley is available in euro sizes 36-42 (some colors available in sizes up to 43 and wide widths) for $144.95 from DanskoZappos, and Amazon.

Naot Innovate
Naot Innovate

Best dress sandal for plantar fasciitis: Naot Innovate

While we’d all love to be able to wear 3.5″ strappy sandals to a formal event and still be able to dance the night away, for most of us with compromised joints , painful toes and/or plantar fasciitis, those days are gone. The Naot Innovate heel comes in at just over two inches and features moderate arch support, and a metal shank for stability. Find the Naot Innovate in euro sizes 35-42 (4-11) for $179.95 from Zappos and Nordstrom.

Check out our reviews of Kuru shoes, known for their ability to relieve plantar fasciitis pain.

Budget-friendly tip: If you can’t afford a new pair of shoes for plantar fasciitis currently, try a pair of ProFoot heel cups–simply put them in your favorite pair of shoes for extra heel support (they carry the seal of acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association).

This review of the Kuru Quest hiking boots is sponsored by Kuru Footwear. The opinions are completely my own based on experience.

The Kuru Quest came my way not a day too late as my feet have been begging for a supportive pair of hikers. We recently relocated to Indiana and are fortunate to live across from the White River and miles of wooded nature trails. With my chronic toe woes and aching arches, longer walks really get the dogs barking, if you know what I mean.

Heel cushioning: Kuru footwear features the patented KURUSOLE which is designed to hug and cushion the fat pad of the heel, relieving plantar fasciitis pain. While I’m not currently dealing with plantar fasciitis, my heels are sensitive to hard surfaces. The KURUSOLE keeps my heel in a secure position while providing excellent cushioning. How best to describe? It’s like an enclosed tiny trampoline for the heels that never hits bottom. Read more about the innovative KURUSOLE here.

Arch support: I find the Kuru removable insole to offer good arch support which is just as essential as heel cushioning in relieving plantar fasciitis pain as it eases strain on the fascia. For me, good arch support alleviates mid-foot arthritis pain and keeps my feet, ankles and even knees aligned.

Toe box: My favorite feature of my Kuru Quest boots is the wide, squarish toe box. With bunions and painful tailor’s bunions (due to arthritic changes in my feet over the years), it’s challenging to find a shoe with a toe box that accommodates both. I need a toe box that stays wide all the way to my mid-foot and doesn’t taper too soon–does that make sense? The Kuru Quest offers ample room for my wonky toes (even with socks) allowing me to cover more distance on the trails in comfort.

Overall feel and fit of the Kuru Quest: My feet feel supported and secure without pinching or irritation. At first the leather felt a little stiff, but with each wearing, it softens up more. The fit at the ankle is a little loose, but I have slim lower leg/ankle area. In my opinion, the Kuru Quest runs true to size.

Bonus feature: Not only is the ankle cuff area cushioned, the material has a subtle sparkle to it which is hard to pick up in photos. I really like it because it adds a little girly bling to a functional hiking boot (so do the light blue laces).

The Kuru Quest boot is available in whole and half sizes 6-12 for $175 from Kuru Footwear with free shipping and free returns within 45 days (in original condition). If you’re looking for a supportive hiking shoe, take a look at the Kuru Chicane.

How about you? Do you have a pair of Kuru shoes? What are your thoughts about fit and feel? Leave a comment and let us know!

I’m thinking of a four letter shoe brand that starts with “K.” They make ultra-comfortable active footwear. Up until a month ago, I would have answered “Keen” hands down. That was until I met Kuru shoes.

Kuru Chicane Hiker in WIDE

I was getting cocky about my feet this summer. Despite the rheumatoid arthritis, my feet decided to comply and not cause me too many aches and pains. Then one morning I got out of bed, placed my feet on the floor, stood up and OWWW! What was this heel pain I was experiencing? It couldn’t be. Not the dreaded PF. I had heard of plantar fasciitis before so I knew what it was, unfortunately. Within a week, my new Kuru Chicane shoes appeared on my front stoop. A godsend indeed.

Kuru Chicane

I’ve been wearing my Kuru Chicane active shoes for the past week when I go on walks to pick my son up from school and would you know,  the heel pain is gone! I’d like to thank Kuru and their “world’s most anatomical midsole” for playing a big part in helping my heels. Aside from the orthotic-like support of the insole, I love the generous toe box area which is a must if you have bunions or hammertoes. And if you need more ankle support, the Kuru Quest is the hiking boot equivalent of the Chicane (see our review of the Kuru Quest).

Take a look at the Kuru Shoes website where you can find out more about their patent-pending KuruSole TM developed by a team of podiatrists, pedorthists and other specialists.

The Kuru Chicane is available in sizes 6-12, medium and wide widths for $175 from Kuru Footwear.

If you have plantar fasciitis or just need a great walking shoe with support, I highly recommend Kuru footwear. Browse the whole line of women’s shoes at Kurufootwear.com. Have you tried Kuru shoes before? Leave a comment and let us know what you think!

Are you tired of wearing sneakers and closed-toe shoes all summer long just because you must wear doctor-prescribed orthotics?

We hear you and we’re here to help. While we’re tempted to simply recommend a Birkenstock or Vionic sandal since both offer excellent orthotic-like support, we understand the importance of sticking to a doctor’s order to wear orthotic-friendly sandals to remedy your foot issue whatever it may be: over-pronation, supination, planter fasciitis, Morton’s neuroma. Keep in mind that it can be tricky to get a perfect fit when using a custom orthotic in a sandal. You may have to trim the orthotic a bit or order a larger size sandal.

Naot Papaki

Is it still a sandal with a closed heel? We say yes because you can still show off a great pedicure. The Naot Papaki features a removable footbed with ability to accommodate an orthotic and keep it secure.

A happy Zappos customer says this about her new orthotic-friendly sandals:

Fit was true to size. I took out the insole and replaced it with my orthotics. The sandals were tan and my orthotic is lined in black- so there’s that: tan sandal with a black insole. I should have ordered a black sandal, I guess. I was amazed at how well the orthotic is hidden! How wonderful it is not to have to clomp around in running shoes in warm weather. These sandals are extremely comfortable. I am going to order a second pair!

Find the Naot Papaki in euro sizes 35-43 (4-12) for $189.95 from NaotZappos, and Nordstrom.

Orthofeet Paloma

The Orthofeet Paloma is no frills on the outside but has some serious comfort technology going on in the inside. We highly recommend watching the video from podiatrist Dr. Splichal below the sandal description here. The Paloma features a removable footbed and can accommodate a custom orthotic, but you may find the original support to be perfect as is. Each pair comes with an additional arch booster which can be inserted under the footbed for enhanced arch support. Find the Orthofeet Paloma in sizes 5-12, medium and wide widths for $99.95 from Orthofeet.com.

Propet June

If you’re looking for a budget AND orthotic friendly sandal, take a look at the Propet June. The insole is removable and footbed deep enough to accommodate most orthotics. Two adjustable straps provide a custom fit across narrow to wide feet. Find the Propet June in sizes 6-11, medium to extra wide width for $89.95 from Zappos and Amazon.

Finn Comfort Gomera

Finn Comfort continues to handcraft their footwear in Germany and the Gomera sandal is a classic. The footbed is amazing in its own right with metatarsal and arch support, plus a deep heel cup–but it is removable and accommodates most orthotics well. The rest of the sandal is equally as functional with its four-point adjustability and rocker motion outsole. The Finn Comfort Gomera is available in euro sizes 36-42 (5.5-11) for $285 from Zappos, Nordstrom and Amazon.

Revere Geneva

Another enclosed-heel sandal for the win! The Revere Geneva gets high marks from orthotic users as the footbed is removable and allows ample room for a custom orthotic. Revere customer Jenni raves:

Great fit, colours, adjustable velcro for straps. Can wear my orthotics easily. Have other Revere shoes but love these the best!

The Revere Geneva comes in seven colors, sizes 5-12, medium and wide widths for $169.95 from RevereShoes.com. Use code BARKINGDOG for 15% off your purchase. Check out Revere’s entire collection of sandals with removable footbeds to accommodate orthotics.

Mephisto Helen

The lovely Mephisto Helen sandal comes back year after year in new colors, textures and patterns.  Its classic style and superb support make it a crowd favorite among comfort shoe lovers. And if I may say so, it edges out Birkenstock just a smidge in the style category with its studded, sparkling upper.

The Mephisto Helen sandal features Soft-Air Technology: a shock-absorbing midsole that relieves pressure on joints and spine. The cork and latex footbed is contoured with anatomical support for heel, arches, toes. The adjustable instep strap allows for a customized fit and the Caoutchouc rubber outsole won’t break down, crumble or mark up your floors (plus it provides even more shock-absorption).

Mephisto Helen

Personally, I love the close fit of this supportive sandal. It doesn’t slap my heel when I walk and stays put on my foot. The arch support is excellent, the footbed soft yet not too flexible (perhaps a good choice for toes with hallux limitus/rigidus?). The slight elevation of the rubber outsole provides more lift than my Birkenstocks–my heels feel protected from hard pavement and floors.

About the toe thong post…I thought it would bother me, but the nubuck leather is soft and after a few wearings, I don’t notice the toe post.

Seventy-five percent of the over 2500 Zappos reviewers award the Mephisto Helen 5 stars for comfort and style. One happy customer says this about her favorite sandals:

Between arthritis, plantar faciitis , achilles tendonitis, etc., it’s been a long time since I’ve been out of my Spira walking shoes for more than a few minutes at a time. My orthopedic surgeon’s nurse turned me on to Mephisto. She wears them religiously. I can actually wear my Helens the whole day long. They fit like a glove. The engineering of the arches and heels provides the support and stability I need.

The Euro size 40, or 10 fits my 9.5-10 foot best. I have a medium width foot, but I imagine these would work for a slightly narrow or wide foot too since the instep strap is adjustable.

The Mephisto Helen sandal is available in euro sizes 35-43 for $104-159 from Zappos, Nordstrom, and Amazon.  Need a wider fit? The Mephisto Helen Plus will suit your feet best. See our comfortable sandals category for more supportive, stylish picks for your “barking dogs.”
